Photobashing the vehicle and finalising it

Once I had the screenshots of the 3d model, I removed the background in photoshop and started to look for references right away. In order to photobash I had to search for pictures that I could use as textures, basically. So they had to be high quality and match the design of my monorail. I wanted my vehicle to look run down, since it's carrying cargo, and also made up of different small parts, almost like it was improvised with the whole apocalypse situation taking humanity by surprise.

After taking bits and parts from different pictures, I started working on my monorail starting from the main structure and then moving on to the bits that are attached to it. I have used the match colour tool heavily while doing this.

At this particular stage, I started to freak out a little and question my workflow, mainly because everything looked quite flat and the lighting was adding up, which led to an unpleasing result, almost like a collage.

After getting the base done I have started working on the lighting, selecting the contents of the layers that I needed to work on, and painting black and white values on top of them, of course, on different layers, so that the contents won't get destroyed. I have also messed with the different blending modes, which gave me different results and choosing the one that worked best.

Things started looking a little better after that, I do need to add a few more details to it, and also take care of the background.
